Sophie & Braden Meet the Children
I have so much to talk about and I feel so behind with my blogging! This post happened over a week ago, but I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had a chance to talk about it.
I’ve been taking Braden and Sophie with me everywhere, and especially to places that have children. On this evening, we all went to Pathfinders, a youth activity with our church that my children are involved in. Wow, was it ever eye-opening to realize that children are loud, quick with movements, and they can be quite overwhelming to a puppy! My kids are generally calm at home I guess because though these pups have been around them quite a bit, it wasn’t the same as at the church.
Two of the younger girls were enamored with Braden and Sophie, and they both passed hands throughout the entire evening! I also let the kids take them for a walk, which now is no problem for either of them, but on that particular night, they weren’t so sure about walking with a strange child.
Even though Sophie is a little more than a lapful, or an armful, they toted her around like she was their favorite dollie! Sophie just tolerated it. As it was her first experience with this, I’m not sure she “relished” it, but she was very good mannered and just let them do whatever they wanted to do. I”m sure she would wear a Halloween Costume if someone put it on her because she just is sweet like that.
Braden did really well too, and I think he actually gave a few kisses while in the arms of the girls! By the end of the night, both pups had tails wagging, and they were willingly coming up to fingers stretched out for sniffing!
It is our goal to take the Accelerated Puppies that have had their 2nd shot, with us to expose them to the ride in the car, children, and different sights and sounds. ChocoBoy and Molly were not with us on this night, but they have been integrated and are coming with us now when we go to town. I’ll be sure to post some pictures of them and their adventures soon!
Sophie – A Female Blenheim Cavachon (Accelerated) – Adopted Puppy
SOPHIE HAS BEEN SELECTED BY MARILYN. SHE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.
This is Sophie, a 7 month old Cavachon female. We have been working with Sophie for several weeks and she is ready for her new home. She can walk on the leash, sleep in her crate over night, and she will be spayed before going to her new home.
Her personality is playful and somewhat laid back. She does not bark, but will let you know when she needs out of her crate to potty (with a little yelp). She loves chewing on Bully Sticks and playing tug-of-war with a rope toy with the other puppies.
She can now ride in the car without getting sick, and she’s just a really nice, mellow puppy. She will probably mature to 18-20 lbs as a full adult.
Enjoy these photos of Sophie. She went to the groomer today for a bath and brush. She looks so sweet and angelic right now, and those big brown eyes just add to her melty sweet look!
Sophie’s price is $1500 plus delivery.
Sadie & Pookie Bear Go To The Groomers
Last November, Lilly & Pujo had a litter of Cavachon puppies. “Sadie” was one of those puppies. We have had her here, all this time, waiting for her to get a forever home. I am happy to announce that she will be going home to Oregon on Sept. 11th!
In preparation for her new home, Sadie needed a haircut! The Cavachon coat is one that DOES need grooming, and Sadie had not been groomed at all, except for a bath here and there. As a result, her coat was thick, wooly, and had some mats, so it was time for Sadie to see the groomers.
Here are a few “before” pictures of Sadie!
On this day, she had a “top-knot”, but not the cute kind with a bow on her head! This was just a spontaneous “clump”!
This is Sadie & Pookie Bear (the little guy) with Princess. They had so much fun playing together!
Sadie, looking like a dog in a winter coat!
And this is Sadie after her haircut! She looked so different, that when I walked into the groomers to pick her up, I saw Pookie and 2 small black dogs, and didn’t even recognize her! One of those “small” dogs was Sadie!!
I just knew she would be grey underneath!
She’s so cute in her bows!
She still has the white patch on her chest, and a bit on her chin!
Her coat is so velvety. It was like a carpet when vacuumed one direction, it’s one color, and then when going the other direction, the color changes.
Sadie looks so elegant here with her paws crossed!
I’m sure that as her hair grows out again, it will get darker. Somehow coats do that. You’ll see with Pookie Bear’s coat below, how when it’s really short, it looks really light, but as it grows in, it gets darker again.
Another view of the variations in color!
She is a happy girl and ready to meet her new parents!
Now, here is a picture of Pookie Bear, “before”. We had groomed him ourselves not too long ago, so he looked pretty good already when he went to the groomers. Notice how his coat is a nice honey brown color here.
He is such a cute boy, and small, and looking for a forever home!
Here he is after going to the groomers!
He looks almost cream-colored. But I know from experience, that as his coat grows, that honey color will come back. Pookie has been groomed several times professionally, and the color always comes back on his coat!
He’s so cute in his bandana!
He is a sweet boy, crate trained, rides in the car without getting sick, and loves going for walks!
His face actually has a bit of grey/black on it. You can really see it in the “before” photo of him!
He loved being at the park getting his picture taken!
Introducing Molly & Braden – Accelerated Puppies in Training
I would like everyone to officially meet Annie’s Tri puppies, who now have names! The puppy on the left is “Molly”, and the puppy on the right is “Braden”. We’ve been loving these puppies and playing with them, but we’ve just been calling them, “here puppy, puppy”, so it’s alway so nice when we find out what their name is going to be, and we can begin using the names with the puppies.
The other night, Molly & Braden watched a movie with us on the couch. Well, let’s say, we all tried to watch a movie, while Molly & Braden wiggled, and wiggled, and wiggled, and wiggled, and wiggled. I thought of the perfect solution to all the wiggling, and gave them a Bully Stick, which worked, and didn’t work at the same time.
It worked because they both stopped wiggling and began chewing ferociously on the thing, but in the process of doing this, instead of wiggles, we had gnaw, squeak, gnaw, squeak, gurgle, squeak, gnaw…to listen to while we watched. The noise was much more tolerable than the movement, so we settled for it and finished our movie.
During the last 5 minutes, we separated the puppies, and Braden fell asleep on my chest, while Molly finally curled up between me and Kaelyn. We watched some of the special features, even though it was late, simply to let ourselves enjoy the cozy puppies, if but for a moment!!
Molly on the left, Braden on the right. I know, it’s blurry. They wouldn’t stop moving!!
Braden, a gorgeous Tri Color Cavachon puppy. This color is rare, and doesn’t come around too often!
Side view of Braden’s face.
A view of their coats.
Close up of Molly. This was actually a photo of the two of them, but Braden was so blurry, I decided to just crop Molly out, blow it up a bit, and use it anyway! Her tan points aren’t as prominent as her brother, but she is gorgeous just the same!
Looking all smug like they were perfect angels the entire evening. Ummm, NOT!!
Another Look At Gracie’s Cavachon Males
We tried to play in the hay, but the puppies just wanted to sit quietly.
So we went into the house and hung out on the couch.
Let me introduce Gracie’s puppies to you. From L-R…
1. The puppy with the heart on his forehead…
2. The smallest in the litter with the most red on his body…
3. The white pup with white on his ear.
These are the three babies, and the markings that distinguish them from one another.
I think the white boy is the most mischevious.
They are really beginning to romp and play with each other. Next week I’ll try to do a video. I was hoping to do one today, but they just sat still the whole time!
They’re all super cute!!
You can see a bit of the color on their backs.
This is the small pup with the most red on his body.
This is “Lovey”, the heart boy!
Here is his heart!!
This is White Boy, with a bit of white on his left ear.
Here he is again.
And again. His ear is so cute!
They still like to sleep a LOT!
Because Cyndie Asked Me To
The process of choosing a puppy is quite involved, and often involves more than one family! Cyndie is waiting to see which puppy Connie chooses, because she’s getting “the other one”. There is no hurry, because both families have chosen for their pup to join our Accelerated Puppy program once they turn 8 weeks old.
That means Tri Guy and Choco Boy will be around here for a while, learning their manners, learning how to potty on the UGODOG, learning how to walk on a leash, eventually sleeping in their crates, and getting neutered if they’re here long enough.
We’re really going to get to know these two puppies and we’re excited that they will be joining our family. Raising an Accelerated Puppy means that they become part of our family, going places with us, getting groomed regularly, going on daily walks, sleeping in our house, and hanging out on our furniture. Yep, we’re going to know Tri Guy and Choco Boy REALLY WELL!!
We sure won’t mind having them around!
“I love you.”
“I love you too”
“You’re my best friend.”
“You’re my best friend too.”
Can they get any cuter?
“Hang on, we’ll be cute in a minute. What’s that over there…”
“Aww, nothin’.”
“Ok, I’m cute again.”
“This is my pal, Choco Boy.”
“Are we almost done?”
“Hurry up and take the picture. We’re sitting perfectly and this takes too much energy!”
“Actually, I’m bored.”
“What’s this?”
” This is WAY MORE FUN now!!”
“Pick Me!!”
“No, Pick Me!!!!”
Because Connie Asked Me To
It is so much fun to watch the puppies grow into adorable balls of fluff! As their hair takes on more personality, so does each puppy, and seeing them interact together, set boundaries with each other, and generally just play until they drop with exhaustion….well, that is the fun part of raising puppies!!
Connie is trying to decide between these two puppies, and she asked me for some more pictures. So here they are. I love working with buyers when the puppies are young. There is so much anticipation and wondering what they’re going to look like as adults. And each puppy is so different. It’s hard to decide!!
“Tri Guy” and “Hunk o’ Chocolate” (aka Choco Boy) hung out on the barn porch yesterday, and boy did they have fun!
As expected, Tri Guy, since after all, he is almost 4 weeks older, took the lead, but this time Hunk o’ Chocolate wasn’t far behind him!
Tri Guy is petit in how he is built. He is a willowy pup, feels lightweight in comparison to Choco Boy. Tri Guy also has long legs, or at least they are longer than Choco’s legs.
Choco Boy continues to amaze me with his unique coat coloring. His coat is thick, wavy, and full of color everywhere!
He is so stinkin’ cute, I can’t stand it!
He looks good from every angle!
But Tri Guy is just as cute. He is a vibrant Tri color Cavachon, and those don’t come around too often. He needs a little haircut around his eyes. I think I’ll do that today.
He’s just pretending to be tired here. The fun had only just begun!
They were like brothers playing, Tri Guy showing Choco Boy the ropes. Choco Boy getting messy along the way!
A spontaneous smooch is always welcome with puppies. They do stuff like that.
“Look how cute I am with that piece of straw on my nose!”
“Look at me, I can pull off a regal look. Just watch me.”
See how short Choco Boy’s legs are?
“What is that thing you’re holding? I need to sniff it!”
Tri Guy is a little taller than Choco Boy, but I’m sure weighs less. It’s like the difference between a ballerina and a wrestler.
“Let’s sit by the watering can and pretend we’re tired.”
“Naaa, I’d rather chew on her finger.”
“Ok then. I’ll see what this red thing tastes like.”
“Are we done yet??”
(Tri Guy comes from Annie & Skippy. Choco Boy comes from Daisychon & Pujo)
Gracie’s Blenheim Males Up Close
Just a sampling. These babies are 5 weeks old today. One puppy from this litter is sold (still to be determined which one), and the other 2 are still available for adoption. We’re accepting deposits now for these puppies. They will be ready for their new homes in approximately 3 weeks!
