We had a friend over for supper tonight and after we ate, she shared a blog post with me about a simple filing system. My ears perked right up because my office is in terrible order and I don’t think I’ve filed a paper properly for over a year or more! Moving day is coming and I need to feel somewhat organized, so I attacked my desk and the top drawer of my filing cabinet and shredded like a mad woman all the papers that were stealing my spaces. What was left was dust, dust, dust on my desktop. I plan to attack the dust tomorrow. At least I can see surface area now! It’s not perfect, but it’s a great start!

Downsizing
Our family and SPK will be moving in August. After much thought and careful consideration, we have decided to be a Cavachon only breeder. This means we are looking to re-home all of our Shihtzu breeder dogs.
We have already found a home for 4 Shihtzus and our two male Maltese. We still have Pearlie Girl, Laeci, R.B., and Sebastian to find homes for. Sebastian could be bred, but the other 3 should go to pet homes.
If you or anyone you know is looking for a little dog, please let me know.
Morning Motion
This morning began early at 5 am. I have Brady and Hallie in the house because Hallie is receiving eye meds 3x daily and Brady is being Accelerated. They were crated together last night and woke me up early.
Hallie & Brady
Once I got Brady and Hallie pottied on the UGO, I made their space a little bigger so they could play.
Isn’t Brady so cute?
Then it was bath time for Bobby and an older Shichon puppy. They are both getting neutered this morning. I gave Bobby a bath while Daryl trimmed the hair off the Shichon.
Bobby after the blow dry. Not a happy camper.
Prisoner to the dryer:(
Then I gave the Shichon a bath. He is 8 months old and has a cherry eye that will also be fixed today. Sorry the picture is blurry. He did NOT like the bath AT ALL and was trying to escape the whole time.
A cherry eye is when a flap of skin, the inner eyelid, moves out of position. They will tuck this back under with a couple of stitches and he’ll be good as new!
The puppies always look like wet rats when they get a bath.
We need a name for this Shichon boy. He’s from Sadie & Sebastian’s previous litter.
My morning has just begun. The blow drier is on the Shichon right now and he is tolerating it quite well. We still have to drive to the vet then come home to do eye meds, feed, clean, and take new puppy pictures.
We are also rehoming 7 adults this week that all need to be wormed! Things are always moving’ at SPK!!
Rainbow
We took a hike yesterday with some church friends. The lake is so low right now we were able to hike out to what is normally an island. It was cold and windy but we had a nice time anyway.
At the very end of the day, we saw a rainbow! I always love rainbows and remembering that they originated with a promise from God.
This next one is the result of me choosing “clarity” on my Camera+ app. It wasn’t quite this vibrant but playing around with photo enhancements is always fun!
Four Puppies Go Home
Four puppies have gone to their forever homes this week, one who flew to San Francisco, and three that I delivered today in the Spokane area. They all continued home to the Seattle area.
I’m a little bummed because the meeting today was rushed and I forgot to take any pictures. I did snap a picture while traveling in the car.
Little white Malshi girl was bursting with energy the entire almost 2 hour drive. I think she needed to potty the whole time because she promptly took care of business in the drivers seat when we arrived.
We had our “ewww” moment, cleaned it up, and moved on. I have a good relationship with the car dealership in town and have the Explorer detailed twice a year. It needs it badly each time!
I hope the first night goes well for all the pups! We will miss their cuteness!
Green Gables
I need to document this day. The green house is officially ours! Escrow closed today and we have keys!
This home is just 5 miles from the school my children will attend for the next 7 years. I’m really looking forward to living so close to school, church, and fairly close to town, though not too close!
The new house is cheerful and full of windows! The inside is always bright and sun-shiney! This is going to be good for me during the dreary winter months of the northwest. The weather is going to be more mild at this home, at least I don’t think the snow will fall quite as soon in the fall, and it will melt and stay melted earlier in the springtime.
We were there just yesterday and I failed to take any new photos. The grass is a vibrant emerald green now and spring is so evident at the new house. We were also surprised with a “lake” that we could see just across the road!
The sounds of birds filled the sky with song. I hope every spring is greeted with this surprise. The picture doesn’t do it any justice. The water was a vibrant blue and it spanned the prairie and was alive with fluttering activity!
Finally, my children will have their own space and my daughter will have some privacy! The boys will share a room and Kaelyn will have her own room. She has been sharing with the boys for the past 5 years, and while that was fine when she was 11, it’s a whole different thing now that she is 15 going on 16!
The house has some really nice features and the kitchen has a dishwasher! I know this is so basic, but after living without one for 5 years, I’m ready for that little kitchen “gadget” to be back in my life. The things I’ve missed most about my home in California were the dishwasher and a room for Kaelyn.
When we were hoping to buy the home, I posted a bunch of pictures HERE. I’m very thankful everything worked out and we will be moving sometime this summer. “Silver Hill” has been a nice place to be, and especially while I was homeschooling, but now that the kids are involved in various activities and going to school every day, we simply need to be closer to everything. We spend so much time driving and it’s quite exhausting day after day. My friend called the new house “Green Gables”. I don’t know if it will really stick. I’d like to think of something a little more original. I do like the idea of “naming” a home!

Jackpot/Eli Update
Update from John…
Jackpot! is good. He is eating well (3 meals per day), his poo is good, and he enjoys playtime and naps. He is using the u-go-dog, but has had a few accidents. He likes chewing on human fingers, zipper pulls, and shoe laces.
He seems to poo most after bedtime and gets his human up to clean up and praise him after each event. Here is one image of him resting in the morning after getting his human up four times during the night (note the devil eyes), and another image of him after playtime.
Jackpot! had a good first visit to the vet yesterday. He charmed the staff, which is important for the long run…Jackpot! is happy and healthy and is doing a pretty good job with the u-go-dog. Here he is dozing this morning between wake up and breakfast. Regards, John
Chelsea & Sebastian’s Shichon Puppies
These puppies are 4 weeks old and will be ready for their new homes in 4 more weeks. They are all very small, and will probably mature to 10-14 lbs as adults. We have a couple deposits for this litter and will know soon which puppies are still available for adoption.
