Updates and New Litters

Hi Everyone!

Here is a quick update about what is happening around here.

First, four puppies are leaving tomorrow! We still have a pretty full nursery, but puppies are older and will be leaving in the next few weeks. After tomorrow we will have the Sophia litter, Chantel litter, two from Pearlie, and the Jesse large white girl. Allie’s litter is also there as well as a very pregnant Roxy.

Our C-section litter is doing very well. Here is a sneak peek at the four babies from Paige.

L-R sable/white F, Blenheim F, golden M, and blenheim M.

We did not lose any puppies from this emergency c-section and Paige is recovering beautifully, though she hates her pills and it’s a battle twice a day to give them to her. Take note…feed your puppy as it’s growing up bits of hot dog, cheese, or whatever will be your food of choice when you need to hide a pill. That way when the time comes, your dog will never even know there is a pill hiding because he/she will be so used to eating that treat just for fun.

Roxy is in the nursery and looks like she will deliver any day.

Scarlett is definitely pregnant and I know a couple of you have expressed interest in her puppies. She is a Cavachon bred to a Bichon, so her litter will be F1b puppies.

Allie’s pups are doing well and are 3 weeks old today.

And finally, the last puppy from all those previous litters that is not spoken for yet is Pearlie’s sold sable boy. We are keeping him as an accelerated puppy so if anyone is interested in getting him at 13 weeks, around April 15th, let me know.

I think that covers all the litter news. I am wrapping up 3rd quarter at school and also preparing for an extended trip with my youngest child over spring break. There are so many details that have to be put into place when I’m gone, so I just haven’t been able to do baths and pictures/video updates. Please trust that everything is going well here and we are focusing on the daily needs of the puppies.

If I sent you an email asking to talk on the phone this week, please do give me a call. I want to make sure everything is lined up for when I’m gone.

These two little munchkins are leaving tomorrow morning! They are the golden puppies from the Pearlie litter.

Piper and Sadie Update

Another great update from a Roxy and Rocky pup!

“These are my two Silver Paw Cavachons. Piper (on the left) will be 4 in April; she is also from a Rocky & Roxie litter. Sadie (on the right) will be 6 in August; I don’t remember her parents name. Piper is a Blenheim and Sadie is a Solid Sable. Piper weighs ~ 10 pounds and Sadie weighs ~ 17 pounds. 💕Love them both so much; I can’t imagine life without them!”

Solid Sable Female Sadie

I love getting updates from past puppy buyers. Here is Sadie, a solid sable female from 3 years ago!!

“We adopted a Rocky and Roxie pup three years ago in June; she was the solid sable female and the only one left in her litter. We named her Sadie, and she came to us in San Jose, via airplane, on June 15, 2015.

She is the light of our lives and we ADORE her! We hope to adopt another puppy from you in a few years when Sadie is older. We want them to be spaced apart enough that we don’t have them pass on at an old age at the same time. Sadie sleeps on our beds, sits next to us on all the couches, and is the sweetest dog we could ask for. She is smart and has learned many commands. Our daughters, now 12 and 14, are her best buddies.

All of us love the videos you post of your pups! They make our day.

Hope all is well, A & family”

As you can see the solid sable does lighten up, but they usually keep a bit of black on their ears. We are excited to be expecting another Roxy and Rocky litter this month!!

About My Days

I thought I’d let everyone see a window of my days as it relates to the dogs and the best time for communicating with me via phone or email.

Most of you probably know that I am a teacher and actually work full time teaching grades 1-4 in a small private school.  My work day usually goes from 7:30 am to 4pm and I am generally home by 4:30 to work in the puppy room.  I have help this year with all the daily dog stuff which has made things go much more smoothly and has given me more time for communicating with all of you, as well as keeping up with the videos and weekly litter updates.

From 4:30 to around 6pm I’m usually cleaning the puppy room, worming, shots, food, water, laundry, and doing the videos and occasional photos of the puppies.  After that I come in and eat supper and then finally sit down for a bit.

My evening is spent writing emails, updating the blog, hanging out with accelerated puppies, and it is the BEST time to talk with me on the phone or via email.  Sometimes I’ve been able to have email conversations with people in real time, answering questions on the spot, and coordinating travel and puppy pick up times.  It’s really nice when details can happen quickly like that.

I’ve also had some people notice that I send emails very late at night, or upload videos late at night, which works well for those on the east coast because they get to wake up to new videos!  I do work long hours, especially when we have a lot of puppies like we do right now.  Thankfully, the puppy waves come and go, and I’m expecting things to calm down a bit in March, though we are expecting new litters from Paige and Roxy this month.

I want to thank everyone again for watching this blog and for being present through this whole puppy selection process.  I NEED you to reach out and let me know your thoughts when you’re on the waiting list because it helps things move forward steadily and consistently and efficiently.  If you ever need to call, I’m usually up till 10 or 11, and if you call  in the morning, it needs to be before 7am (pacific time).

Those that already have puppies, I love to hear from you and whenever you send an update, please include a photo so I can add it all to this blog.  People love to see what the puppies look like as adults and how they have become part of your family.

I think that’s all for now.  It’s almost 9pm and maybe I’ll go to bed early tonight!  Till next time….Kristy 🙂

What’s Left

Hi again!

I’m here to keep everyone updated on the progress of puppy selection and to highlight what we still have left for puppies.  We have been working on matching the Pearlie, Abbey, Sophia, and Chantel puppies and here is what we still have left.  For Pearlie’s litter, we have the solid sable male and the blenheim male.  For Abbey’s litter we have the sable/white male.  Sophia’s litter still has the golden female and the solid sable female, and Chantel’s litter has all been matched.

I have a family that wanted to see the comparison between Pearlie’s and Sophia’s blenheim males so I have made a video of that and will be sending it their way this evening.

A word about the Sophia litter.  These are the SMALLEST puppies we have EVER had.  EVER.  The weight range at 5 1/2 weeks old is from 15 oz (Molly the sable/white) up to 1 lb 5 oz (the large golden girl and the solid sable male).  These puppies will NOT be going home at 8 weeks old and will stay at least until they are 10 weeks old.  They will not be getting their shots at the regular 7 weeks old and we are starting their worming schedule late due to how small they are.  They are spunky, playful, and while they look “dirty” due to the fact that we are giving them very softened food that they step all in, they act like normal 5 week old puppies and play and fight with each other.  I am posting the video I took of them this afternoon on their litter page.

The Abbey male is a hoot!  He gives kiss, has an always wagging tail, and he is feisty and fun and energetic.  He is about 2 lbs right now at 6.5 weeks old so he will be from 10-15 lbs as an adult.  He is brimming with personality and will do well in an active family.

The Allie puppies now have a live litter page.  You can see their first baby photos and get an idea of their markings and size difference.  They are both sable/white females and I believe there are a few people on the waiting list that might be quite interested in these two girls.

I think I’m pretty up to date with the waiting list, so aside from the blenheim boys and the possibility of the solid sable girl being chosen by people on the list, and those that I think could be interested in the Allie girls, I think the rest of the puppies are available to those on or off the list.  If you want more information about a puppy, please send us an email at silverpawcavachons@gmail.com.  Please do not leave a comment on this blog post.

I will be reaching out to those getting Pearlie and Abbey puppies very soon as they will be ready to go home this weekend and the following week and I want to line up travel dates so I can be sure everyone goes to the vet on time.

I also need to be sure I’m pre-planning for the Chantel pups and when they will be going home so please reach out to me and let’s talk about travel if you’re getting a Chantel pup.

The Sophia pups will be ready at the earliest by April 6 when they are 10 weeks old.)

The Jesse pups, named “Poppy” and “Pappy” (no, they didn’t know they were naming their accelerated puppies almost the same name) are the sweetest girls and we are starting them on their crate training and hoping to get them out on leashes very soon (it’s still a little too muddy).

I think that is everything for now.  I’ve had a really busy week at school and things won’t let up till after March 15th.  We are being evaluated this year and it is requiring more of my time than usual.  Thank you for your patience if I don’t have a new video up each week between now and March 22nd.  Know that all the daily needs of your puppies are being taken care of as our first priority, and photos and videos will come as I’m able.

The snow is melting and spring is on the way!

Update on the Puppy Selection Progress

Hey everyone!

Things continue to move forward here and I’m happy to announce that the Jesse pups and the Justyne pups have all been matched to forever homes.

We are now working on the Pearlie, Chantel, Abbey, and Sophia pups for puppy selection, and there will be a new litter page for Allie in the next day or two with the first photos of her new litter born last week.

I’d like to go through the waiting list again so people know where things stand.

  1. Deb – still deciding on the solid sable female from Chantel.
  2. Lili – waiting till 2019
  3. Rachel F – blenheim female, but I haven’t heard from her in a very long time.

  29. Kimberly F. – Chantel Blenheim F
  30. Sherry E.

These are all the details I have in my notes regarding the list and what people are wanting.  If there is nothing by your name, or the info I have listed after your name is incorrect, please send me an email and help me update my notes.  I am hoping to finalize details with Deb, Julie F, Krista J., Andrea R., and Kimberly F tomorrow.  I will also be adding photos of the new Allie pups, and we are hoping that Paige will have her puppies soon.  We are also expecting puppies from Roxy and hope that Scarlett will have a litter, and that Paisley is pregnant.  We will have to wait to know for sure on those last two.

Puppies that are currently wide open, meaning nobody has been asking about them so far are the solid sable and golden females from Sophia’s litter.  The blenheim  male from that litter and from the Pearlie litter are also possibly available but I’m checking with 2 families still on those pups.

I think that covers all of the puppies.  I’m hoping that by the end of tomorrow we will have matched 5 more puppies to their forever families.  Again, if you’re on the waiting list and you want more information about any of the puppies just let me know.  If we’ve talked and you’re waiting for photos and answers to your questions, I plan to work on all of that tomorrow (Sunday).

Thanks again for your patience and your support.  We can’t wait to put all these babies into your arms!
