What’s in the Nursery?

Hi Everyone!

We have some puppies looking for homes. Four to be exact.

First, we have Buddy, the blenheim male Cavachon, accelerated puppy. He is taking daily walks on the leash and learning to use the doggie door and actively being crate trained. He is a lover boy and ready for his new home any day!

He is such a people person and he is curious and eager and just plain fun!

Here we are on our most recent walk with Buddy and Scarlett practicing stops and gos.

Next up are two Bichon Frise boys, very playful, and should range from 12-16 lbs as adults.

These guys essentially look the same and they are both a bundle of white fluff.

These boys are currently seven weeks old and will be ready for their new homes next week.

Lastly, we have a four week old Cavachon male, sable and white.

If you know the back story of the dogs, you’ll know that it all started to pay for piano lessons for my children. Now that they’re all grown and out of the house, and since I’m no longer taking lessons at this time, and I’ve cut way back on the number of litters we are having each year, and since Scarlett’s is getting up there in age, it felt fitting to keep a puppy or two for ourselves.

When Missy had this litter with a solid gold (my favorite color) and solid black puppy (too gorgeous to let go), I couldn’t stop thinking about naming them Ebony and Ivory to honor the years of piano and the fulfillment of my dream to have the dogs pay for my children to have music lessons.

So in this litter, we are keeping the two solid girls, and little Beethoven (sable/white male) is looking for a forever home.

I’ve also decided to donate the sale of one puppy per litter to our local worthy student fund so kids can have access to private education.

Ebony will be known as “Bunny” and Ivory will be known as “Ivy”. Here’s a video I took yesterday of the litter.

In future news, both Lacey and Lizzy, two female Bichons that have never had puppies, tied with Duke, a proven black/tan Cavalier male at the beginning of September, so if they are pregnant, we will expect two new litters at the beginning of November with puppies ready to go home just after the new year.

That is our news! I hope everyone is doing well and let me know if you’re ready for a puppy. The waiting list has been very quiet recently so it’s basically first come first serve.

Summer Update

Hello Everyone!

Happy summer 2024! So many things have been happening in my life and it’s time for an update. First, a puppy update.

We have two females with a male dog right now and so far there has been no action that we’re aware of. We have been reserved in doing any other breeding because we have FIVE puppies (that are now teens and almost adults) that did not sell in our last three litters and we cannot breed if we can’t find homes for the dogs.

We would like to breed more again, but we also have to know that there is enough interest in puppies. If you have reached out to me about puppies or updates, please do so again and I will be sure to respond. I know there are several of you waiting for a Missy puppy and we are hoping she will get pregnant soon.

The main reason we have been so quiet over here is that I have been caring for my 88 year old mother in CA. Last school year, besides working full time in my multigrade (grades 5-8) classroom, I have been flying back and forth to CA to help care for my mother. This has limited my available puppy hours significantly, so we took a step back and separated the dogs. This is the longest break we have ever taken and while we do want to breed again, and plan to, we have been careful not to get in over our heads with puppies, jobs, and elder care.

As for now, we have two females with a male dog and hope to ease back into having litters as we settle into the next school year.

In the meantime, we are working with our older puppies and I want to introduce this Scarlett female to everyone again. She is currently six months old and living in the house with us. She has learned to use the doggie door and is crate trained. We are still working on walking on the leash. It’s also been too hot to do much car experience but we have gone to the groomer and home again.

The groomer said she was a dream to work with and the sweetest girl ever!! At our home she is smart and spunky and ready for an adventure. She sleeps in a crate at night and goes outside to do her business in the morning when we let her out of her crate.

She is ready for her new home anytime as an accelerated puppy. Next up, after she finds her forever home, we will bring in her brother who looks exactly like her. Following him, we have another blenheim male and two black males. I’d love to see all these older puppies find homes before Halloween if possible. If that can happen, I’d feel much better about combining more dogs again for future puppies.

So that is our update. Here are a few photos, first, the girlie that is ready to go anytime, and then my family priority, my mom.

We need a name for her!
She should be from 15-20lbs as an adult.

Scarlett’s Last Litter

Hi Everyone!

Whew! It’s been two months since I’ve done a blog post. A lot has been happening in my personal life, besides Thanksgiving, our 31st wedding anniversary, my mom’s birthday, my sons birthday, Christmas, knee replacement surgery for my mom, bumped up three weeks early, her recovery, and my sister being in and out of the hospital twice with bronchitis, asthma, and pneumonia, Scarlett had puppies on January 1st!! I’ve been busy.

We currently have ten puppies on the property, nine looking for new homes. I’ll share pictures of the four older puppies in another post, but want to focus on the Scarlett litter for this post.

There are five puppies born on New Year’s Day, one girl and four boys. They will be eight weeks old February 26th and ready for their new ho es that week. We are not able to do an accelerated puppy from this litter as I am heading to Europe over spring break and really need the puppies home before I leave mid March.

Here’s the first look at the litter.

They are three weeks old tomorrow. Scarlett is a great mom and we are enjoying watching them grow.

Mimi’s Litter Plus Two

Hi Everyone!

We’ve been busy sending the Scarlett and Emily puppies to their new homes! We have one puppy still available from each of those litters, Marshmallow from the Scarlett litter, and Phantom from the Emily litter.

Phantom
Marshmallow (the cream one)

Both of these puppies are friendly, playful, and happy go lucky! They will be wonderful pets and both are ready to go anytime!

We have another litter that is now five weeks old and we are taking names for these puppies. They are the crew from Mimi, a small Bichon Frise! Dad is a black/tan Cavalier and we got all the rarest colors in this litter!

L-R Black/Tan M, Golden F, Black/White M, Black M, Golden F, Black M

Here they are one by one!

All of the black colors are rare and we don’t see them very often. If you are wanting a black or black and white puppy, this is your opportunity. These puppies should also be on the smaller side. I’m expecting them to be from 12-16lbs as adults.

They will be ready to go home in about three weeks and I’d like to start puppy selection this coming week. Please let me know if you’d like your name added to this litter list. So far I have:

1. Richard M (black/tan pup)

2. Anne Marie B

3. Kathy K (female only)

These puppies will be ready for their new homes after September 28th. Please send us an email if you’re interested!

Scarlett Litter List

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to post the litter list for Scarlett’s litter. There are 8 puppies, 3 girls and 5 boys. I’ll post updated photos and video this coming weekend. They are currently 3.5 weeks old.

Please fill in this form if you are on the waiting list and would like to be considered for this litter. They will be ready to go home November 11-17. Like the last litter, we are not able to do accelerated puppy training during the school year. Please only consider this litter if you are able to travel here between November 11-17.

Also, this is an F1b litter. The mother, Scarlett, is a Cavachon bred back to a Bichon Frise. the puppies are technically 3/4 Bichon and 1/4 Cavalier. Some do have a tighter curl and some colors are more muted.

The waiting list has been updated with all of the recent deposits that we have received.

This is an older photo, but you can see their colors. The solid sable, one white, and the sable/white with the spot on her head are the female puppies. More pictures soon.

Here is the litter link.

Scarlett Pups Progress Report

Hi Everyone,

I trust you had a merry Christmas. Ours was simple, small, and cozy, and now today I’m back to talking to people about puppies.

We still have 3 puppies from the Scarlett litter that are available and you don’t have to be on the waiting list. They will see the vet this next Monday and will be ready to go home on Tuesday and later.

Here is another look!

Smallest sable/white girl is still available. She is spunky and fun!

This curly golden boy is ready to play!!

This solid sable boy is rich in color and is the largest pup in the litter. He is fun and playful too!

The golden girl is pending right at this moment and the other four pups were matched to their families on our Scarlett Puppy Matching day.

Please send us an email if you’re ready for a new Cavachon puppy. This is such an amazing breed in temperament, personality, non-shedding, and mostly non-barking qualities (I can’t say non-barking because all dogs do bark!).

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and stay tuned for info about Roxy’s litter.

I’m also planning to contact every person on my waiting list to see what your status is for a new puppy in 2020. There will be some upcoming changes on how I manage the waiting list, pricing, and we will continue with our new method for puppy selection.

Happy New Year to all!

Kristy🐶😊
