Summer Update

Hello Everyone!

Happy summer 2024! So many things have been happening in my life and it’s time for an update. First, a puppy update.

We have two females with a male dog right now and so far there has been no action that we’re aware of. We have been reserved in doing any other breeding because we have FIVE puppies (that are now teens and almost adults) that did not sell in our last three litters and we cannot breed if we can’t find homes for the dogs.

We would like to breed more again, but we also have to know that there is enough interest in puppies. If you have reached out to me about puppies or updates, please do so again and I will be sure to respond. I know there are several of you waiting for a Missy puppy and we are hoping she will get pregnant soon.

The main reason we have been so quiet over here is that I have been caring for my 88 year old mother in CA. Last school year, besides working full time in my multigrade (grades 5-8) classroom, I have been flying back and forth to CA to help care for my mother. This has limited my available puppy hours significantly, so we took a step back and separated the dogs. This is the longest break we have ever taken and while we do want to breed again, and plan to, we have been careful not to get in over our heads with puppies, jobs, and elder care.

As for now, we have two females with a male dog and hope to ease back into having litters as we settle into the next school year.

In the meantime, we are working with our older puppies and I want to introduce this Scarlett female to everyone again. She is currently six months old and living in the house with us. She has learned to use the doggie door and is crate trained. We are still working on walking on the leash. It’s also been too hot to do much car experience but we have gone to the groomer and home again.

The groomer said she was a dream to work with and the sweetest girl ever!! At our home she is smart and spunky and ready for an adventure. She sleeps in a crate at night and goes outside to do her business in the morning when we let her out of her crate.

She is ready for her new home anytime as an accelerated puppy. Next up, after she finds her forever home, we will bring in her brother who looks exactly like her. Following him, we have another blenheim male and two black males. I’d love to see all these older puppies find homes before Halloween if possible. If that can happen, I’d feel much better about combining more dogs again for future puppies.

So that is our update. Here are a few photos, first, the girlie that is ready to go anytime, and then my family priority, my mom.

We need a name for her!
She should be from 15-20lbs as an adult.
