Long Overdue Update

Hi Everyone,

It’s time for some updates from Silver Paw Cavachons. Things have been quiet here due to several factors and I’d like to share a few details.

First, my mom who is now 90 moved in with us almost two years ago. This definitely changed the dynamic of our home and availability of time. We bred minimal litters last year and currently have no puppies.

Second, we had a line of litters where all the puppies didn’t sell and we ended up with older puppies who eventually did find pet homes, but that put an extra burden on our time and resources, so we pulled way back and began to evaluate what things looked like for our future.

We also downsized our numbers dramatically and found pet homes for all of our older dogs which leaves just a handful of adults now in our kennel.

Our plan is to breed our four females this spring and summer and I’m happy to announce that they have all been placed with males a couple weeks ago.

I’ve received many emails that I have not responded to and I apologize. If you are interested in being added to our waiting list for the upcoming litters, please kindly reach out again and I promise to reply this time.

Our spring/summer litters should produce a rainbow of colors and we are excited to meet all of you that are looking for puppies.

Thank you for your interest and I love hearing updates from all of you that are already part of the Silver Paw family!!

Here is our sweet, sweet Scarlett. She is enjoying her retirement!!

  1. One of Scarlett’s babies, Dixie Mae Sprinkles. Turning 8 in a few weeks and the picture of health and vitality!

  2. Hi Kristy,

This is Nikki Skinner (Moki’s mom- from Daisy and Buster). 🙂

I would like to be placed on the list, please. We are hoping for another Cavachon- either the solid sable, tri color, golden, or black and tan. (female preferred) Our Moki passed away in 2022, so it has not quite been the same since!

The last time we purchased one, it was 2010. I am a little scared to ask how much they cost now!! 🙂 But please share pricing if you can. Thanks!!

I hope you are doing well!! We are also in the ‘Sandwich Generation’ and it sure does add to your plate. I am still teaching music and adjusting to the empty nest phase. So different after being so busy raising kids, isn’t it??

Many blessings to you and your family! Nikki

Here is a pic with Brad and Moki. 🙂

  3. Hi Kristy, I’m reaching out to you because I am now retired to able to fully care for a puppy. I was on the waiting list so by this time should be up at the top of the list. I’m interested in a puppy this spring/summer. I would like a girl but either boy or girl is fine. I would like a black/tan, Apricot or red, Sable or Sable and white puppy (I just want the area around the eyes to be darker) that’s 50% King Charles Spaniel and 50% Bishon Frisse and small to medium in size. I’m having a hard finding the waiting list to check that I’m still on it. Please let me know if there are any issues. Thank you much, blessings Jennifer Ludwig

  4. We are interested in a second cavachon! We have Sonny (aka Tiny Boy) from 2022 and he has been a wonderful addition to our family. We are considering a playmate for him and would hope you would be agreeable to an introduction first to make sure personalities matched. He is so sweet and easy going we do not want to disrupt his life too much but think a playmate would make his life fuller. Please let me know your thoughts on this. I’m sure you have experience introducing new puppies to households that already have dogs. We just love him so much and think he would like a playmate, but at the same time are worried he might feel replaced or that he has to compete.
    Thank you!
